WMI might be corrupted error

Problem

One or more of the following may apply:

  • You are unable to view Network properties.
  • You receive one of these error messages:
    • “Windows cannot display the properties of this connection. Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) might be corrupted.”
    • “Unable to view System Information (MSinfo32)”

Solution

  1. Click the Start button (Windows XP users should then click Run).
  2. Type services.msc and press Enter.
  3. In the new window, locate and then right click on “Windows Management Instrumentation”.
  4. Click Stop.
  5. Click the Start button (Windows XP users should then click Run).
  6. Type “%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem\Repository” without quotes and press Enter.
  7. A folder will open. Delete all of the files and folders in that folder.
  8. Restart the computer.

  7. Thank, It would not have worked unless I hve right clicked to the WMI and changed mode from “disable to automatic, start”
