Change or reset the product key for Office 2003 or 2007

  1. Close all open Office programs.
  2. Click the start menu (then click Run if using Windows XP) and type regedit.
  3. Click Continue or Yes, if prompted.
  4. Navigate to the appropriate key:
    • Office 2007 on 32-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration
    • Office 2003 on 32-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Registration
    • Office 2007 on 64-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration
    • Office 2003 on 64-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Registration
  5. Then click on the only folder in there.
  6. Then right click on DigitalProductID and click Delete.
  7. Then right click on ProductID and click Delete.
  8. Now opening an Office program will prompt you to enter a new product code.
