Dragon for Mac 5 stability issues with Mac OS X El Capitan

Cause

Dragon for Mac 5 is not fully stable with the new Mac OS X El Capitan

Solution

Update Dragon for Mac 5 to Dragon for Mac 5.0.2 Build 13623

This update addresses the following issues:

  • issues affecting commands for customers who have upgraded from Dragon Dictate for Mac version 4

It also includes fixes that were previously released in Dragon for Mac 5.0.1

These fixes included:

  • Compatibility with OS X El Capitan
  • Overlapping text in the Status Window
  • Displaying an incomplete list of correction choices
  • Correction appears blank or flashes choices quickly
  • Internal errors when creating or upgrading a profile
  • Commands are read-only for Australia, New Zealand, India, and Singapore profiles
  • Issues using bullet lists
  • Readability of text situated in the Info area of the Status Window
  • Stability improvements switching between Transcription and Dictation
  • Issues with keyboard shortcuts

  1. It would be useful to have a separate downloadable file as I cannot open v5.0 in OS10.11 in order to update. So I updated the app on my laptop and copied to my imp with 10.11. Now Dragon opens, at least, but will not allow me to load a profile – and that only after starting the iMac in safe mode. Some more work needed I think – or at least a workaround.
