"SendKeys cancelled" in Dragon Naturally Speaking


When dictating using Dragon Naturally Speaking, you receive the following error:
“SendKeys cancelled”

There may be additional information such as:
“at line 1 in script Dragon Voice Commands Automation”.


This is caused by an incompatibility with Adobe Reader X.

    I had this sendkeys cancelled thing. When I heard it was something to do with Adobe Reader X, I went into that program and a box popped up suggesting how to fix this – and the suggestion worked.

    In Adobe Reader X, go to Edit>Preferences>General and uncheck the “enable protected mode at Startup” box. This fixed the problem for me. I hope this helps.

  3. This is not caused by adobe acrobat its more complicated i have been trying to solve it for weeks with no success

  4. Thanks for this, the problem was caused by Adobe Reader X, disabling the protected mode solved everything.
